PLAYED over two days and 36 holes on Mondays, July 4 and 11, Downes Crediton Seniors competed to crown their Club Champions for 2022.

Leading the way in Division One to win the Scratch Championship was Quinn Payne-Cook as he scored gross 76+80 =156 to win by four shots from Mike Nott (160).

Mike Nott prevailed in the Division One Handicap Championship adding a second round 73 to a superb first round nett 65 (5 under par) for a 138 total and this time beating Quinn Payne-Cook (nett 142) into second.

The Division Two Scratch Champion was Andrew Chandler who scored rounds of 90+96=186 to beat Mike Thurston (188) into second whilst Roger Gratton sealed the Division Two Handicap Championship with rounds of nett 70+69=139 beating Andrew Chandler (nett 140) into second. Well played to all the winners.

Darren Russell won the Midweek Stableford on Wednesday, July 6 with a score of 37 points.

Downes Crediton ladies played the annual Killard leavey and “Express and Echo” foursome qualifier on Thursday, July 7, with the duo of Sue Barr and Ying Wong scoring 39 points to take top spot.

Second place went to the pair of Sue Bond and Trish Wallis with 36 points whilst Marina Caston and Di Parsons (36pts) placed third.

In the ladies Nine Hole Stableford Jill Yates was victorious with 20 points.

Winner of the Thursday Nine Hole Stableford was Gary Miles with 23 points.

Simon Coupe was in fine form on Saturday, July 9 as he produced a stunning 43 points to win the Saturday Club Stableford and top Division Three, a single point clear of second placed Tommy Gibbs (42pts).

Maurice Curtis scored 39 points to take the honours in Division One whilst Mike Napper topped Division Two, posting 38 points.
