ABOUT 200 people enjoyed a pleasant afternoon listening to the talented Crediton Town Band play a free concert on the lawns at Downes, Crediton, by kind permission of Henry and Susan Parker.

The band played a range of tunes, some with soloists, including marches, an Abba medley, “Eternal Flame” by The Bangles, “Born Free”. “The Band from the Harbour Wall” penned by Alfie Pugh, the son of the musical director, Iorwerth Pugh, plus many others.

Audience participation included singing along and some took part in performing “Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes”.

Peter Brewer appealed for donations towards Prostate Cancer UK, and the public were very generous, a figure to be announced.
