MONDAY, May 21 saw Downes Crediton Golf Club seniors play their May Medal which was won by Brian Williams with a superb score of nett 68 to take the overall victory and Division One beating Alan Willey by one who scored a nett 69.

Rick Eidam took Division Two with a fantastic score of nett 69 beating Chris Vercoe who scored a nett 71.

There was a full field of players for the Wednesday (May 23) stableford as 27 players headed out and it was Daryl Pidgeon who drove home to top spot with a brilliant score of 36 points beating Jason Arnold by a better back nine.

Thursday, May 24 saw our ladies play the annual Peugeot Coronation Foursomes and it was the team of June Mitchell and Doreen Warren who stole the show with an impressive score of 34 points beating the team of Rebecca Aven and Ying Wong who also scored 34 points but were beaten by a better back nine.

Saturday, May 26 saw our Kyrton Pairs 36-hole Open held. This is where the pairs play a foursomes stableford in the morning and a four ball better ball in the afternoon.

In the morning the score of 35 points from the team of Quintin Payne-Cook and Tom Long from Downes Crediton took the best round while the other home team of Darren Clifford and Jason Arnold took the best PM round with a super score of 42 points.

In the overall result of this year’s Kyrton pairs it was very tight at the top as the team of Steve Howard and his partner Dave Stunt, all the way from Weymouth Golf Club, pipped the home pair of Matt Brooks and Oliver Greenslade with a score of 77 points beating them by a better back 18.
