PETER Carr and Kevin Woolacott stole the show at Downes Crediton Golf Club on Monday, December 10 in the Canadian foursomes with a fantastic score of 47 points to take the victory.

The pair of Alan Willey and Gerry Hodder posted a fine 45 points to finish second whilst Andrew Chandler and Alun Lewis finished third with a score of 44 points.

Even with the awful weather last week Downes’ ladies still played their Fancy Dress 3 Mulligan stableford on Thursday, December 13 and it was Ying Wong who finished in top spot with a fantastic 33 points.

She beat Anne Woodger (33 pts) into second place with a better back nine and Rickie Pawsey finished in third place with 33 points, also losing to a better back nine.

With strong winds and rain on Saturday, December 15, the Club Stableford only saw the hardy members take to the course.

This being said it didn’t stop some terrific scoring with Paul Hayward winning with a superb score of 42 points and Jason Arnold second posting 40 points. Mike Charnock finished in third place with 39 points.
