THE Seniors at Downes Crediton Golf Club took part in a Monday roll-up Stableford on September 12 and winning by a four point margin with a tremendous seven under par 43 points was Edward Copp.

Three players posted 39 points but taking second place courtesy of a better back nine was Colin Parr with Paul Fricker third and John Cann fourth.

The last Mid Week Stableford Order of Merit qualifier took place on Wednesday, September 14 before the final that sees the top two finishers winning spots to play with Club Professional, Barry Austin, and Club Captain in next year’s Downes Crediton Pro-Am.

Winning with a fine 41 points was Matthew Brooks with Simon Baker second (37 pts) and Patrick McVeigh third.

The ladies played the EWGA Medal 13 on Thursday, September 15 in support of the Breast Cancer charity.

Sue Barr made it two victories in successive weeks posting a nett 79 to beat D Parsons (nett 80) into second place by a single shot. Lyn Parry (nett 81) finished third, a shot further back.

Saturday, September 17 saw Downes members take part in a roll up Stableford open to all sections of the club and there was some impressive scoring.

Matt Coates took top spot with an impressive 43 points to beat Adam Hull (42 pts) by a single point. Jason Hayman followed in third place posting 39 points with Matt Redstone following on in fourth (38 pts).

Sunday, September 18 saw Downes Crediton beat Dartmouth 3.5 – 1.5 in their final Dartmoor League fixture of the season which confirms them as 2016 Dartmoor League Champions.

Downes Dartmoor League Captain, Graham Dyne, was “Over the Moon” and thanked everyone in his squad for their support and commitment during the season.

Recent days have seen a number of the Downes Crediton Summer Knockout Finals take place with some great golf and close run matches.

In the Singles Scratch K/O final Robin MacKay took victory beating Mike Nott three and two. In the singles handicap K/O final, The Conibear Cup, Ashley Cross overcame Mike Delling one up in a very close run affair.

In the Lee and Hudson Scratch Foursomes final Matt Dyne and Mike Delling played some scintillating golf in scoring an impressive seven and six victory over Ollie Greenslade and Tristan Kershaw.

The Stan Setter pairs K/O final saw Steve Bassett and Mark Clements overhaul Jason Hayman and Steve Knight one up.
