THE pair of Cedric Chapple and Nick Bromell produced some scintillating golf on Monday, February 18 in Downes Crediton Golf Club Seniors four ball better ball to take the victory with a superb score of 48 points.

Roger Gratton and Graham Pateman posted a brilliant 46 points to finish second while the duo of Kevin Woolacott and Jim Kenshole (45 points) finished third.

Thursday, February 21 saw Downes ladies play a team two scores to count stableford and it was the trio of Sue Bond, Trish Wallis and Rebecca Aven who topped the pile scoring a fine 70 points. Their nearest challengers were the team of Ruth Ford, Rickie Pawsey and Sue Barr (56 points) who finished second.

Saturday, February 23 saw Downes members play a three-player team stableford (two scores to count) and on a gorgeous sunny day there was some fine scoring.

Winning were the team of Gerry Tomlinson, Neil Bishop and Nick Taylor who put together a superb score of 87 points for a one shot victory.

Finishing in second and third respectively, and only separated by virtue of the back nine, were the teams of Simon Baker, Barry Tucker and David Bunclark and Joe Hull, Adrian Cram and Anthony Wonnacott, both scoring 86 points.
