MONDAY, September 18 saw Downes Crediton Golf Club seniors play in the Grandad’s Trophy, an individual stableford.
Joe Hull top scored with a fantastic 42 points whilst also winning Division Two, two points clear of Robin Tooze (40 pts) in second place with Jim Enright (39 pts) third.
Divison One was won by Brian Williams scoring 39 points followed in second place by Tom Berry (38 pts) with Martin Howe third posting 37 points.
Patrick McVeigh stole the show scoring an impressive 40 points in the Midweek Stableford on Wednesday, September 20, four points clear of second placed Jim Dunlop (36 pts).
On a beautiful day with the golf course in stunning condition Downes members played for the Ray Shire Trophy, a 3 player team one score to count medal on Saturday, September 23.
Winning were the trio of Rodin Mackay, Matt Redstone and Tim Andrews who covered the back nine holes in a stunning nett 10 under par 25 which along with four under par front nine saw them post a nett 56, 14 under par.
Second place went to Gerald Abdoll, Adam Hull and Barry Tucker one shot back on 57 (13 under par) whilst Clive Elliott, Dave Shillingford and Michael Brown finished third topping a gaggle of teams on nett 60.
