MONDAY, May 23’s Seniors Medal at Downes Crediton Golf Club saw some superb scoring with Brian Williams taking the overall win and topping Division Two with a fine score of nett 65.

James Downing was victorious in Division One, posting a nett 67 whilst Quinn Payne-Cook and Robin Abrahams both scored nett 68’s to finish second and third respectively.

Liam Whittleston won the Tuesday Junior 9 Hole Stableford on Tuesday, May 24 scoring 15 points.

There was a large turnout for the Wednesday, May 25 Midweek Stableford, which was a windy day.

It saw Jacob Payton keep up his good form to score 36 points to take victory, beating Ken Bones (36pts) into second by virtue of a better back nine holes.

Ying Wong was in superb form as she recorded a tremendous 40 points for the overall win in the Ladies County Stableford 5 on Thursday, May 26.

Ying also topped Division One with Anne Woodger (38pts), following in second, whilst Sue Jackson scored 35 points for victory in Division Two. Norma Barry won the 9 Hole Stableford, posting 17 points.

In the Thursday 9 Hole Stableford Hayden Leach scored an impressive 21 points for the win.

Saturday, May 28 saw Downes Crediton host the Kyrton Pairs Open, a superb 36 hole event that sees pairs play foursomes in the morning and betterball in the afternoon.

Winning were the Downes Crediton duo of Maurice Curtis and Ben Marchant who followed up their solid morning score of 36 points with an afternoon betterball, 45 points for an 81 point total.

Following in second, a single point behind, were Steve Whyte and Tristan Kershaw who charged up the leaderboard when they followed up their morning 33 points with a superb 47 points.

Weymouth pair Martin Clark and Paul Webb posted 79 points to finish third.

Josh Murphy produced a fine 40 points to win the Sunday, May 29 Stableford beating Leigh Davis (40pts) into second.

Mike Napper followed in third scoring 39 points.
