MONDAY, December 19 saw 84 Downes Crediton Golf Club seniors compete in a three-player team stableford with one score counting on par 5’s, two on par 4’s and three on par 5’s.

Kev Woolacott, Jim Kenshole and Peter Carr came out on top scoring a terrific 83 points, a point clear of their nearest challengers.

Dave Conabeare, Roger Gratton and Hugh Fernyhough posted 82 points to take second place courtesy of a superior back nine from Graham Cridland, John Rance and Arthur Moughton (82pts) who finished in third place.

Christmas Eve saw Downes members take part in a roll up stableford and Kevin Grant was the star on top of the tree scoring 39 points for a fine victory.

Jason Arnold and Michael White finished second and third respectively, both posting 37 points, with Betty Willey top lady scoring 32 points.

More than 40 people turned out for the Boxing Day Cross Country Challenge. With beautiful weather and an interesting nine hole layout put together by Club Captain, David Taylor, a fun game was had by all.

Lewis Ponsford posted the best score of 23 points to take victory with Graham Dyne (21 pts) in second place and Dan Knight in third place with 20 points.

Di Botterill was the leading lady.
