JOHN Warren, Richard Burston and Graham Brownes teamed up on Monday, November 8, to secure a fine win in the Seniors 1-2-3 Stableford at Downes Crediton Golf Club, posting a fine 78 points.

Following in second were the trio of David Cousins, Bill Dick and Roger Field whose 76 points pushed Eric Fee, Jim Matheson and Mike Thurston (76pts) into third.

On Thursday, November 11 Downes ladies played a pairs betterball stableford and a superb score of 40 points saw the duo of Trish Wallis and Fran Shrubsole romp to victory by six clear points.

Shirley Stunnel and Anne Woodger followed in second with 34 points.

With Christmas only six weeks away Downes members played in the first of their seasonal competitions on Saturday, November 13.

In the Poultry Stableford, David Taylor played some sparkling golf that included a superb eagle two on the 12th hole to post a fine 42 points to win overall and top Division Two.

Winning Division One, was Duane Greenslade scoring 39 points whilst top spot in Division Three was taken by Mike Charnock with a 41 point haul.

The ever popular mixed pairs competitions continued on Sunday, November 14 with victory in the Greensomes stableford format going to Sue Jackson and Mark Taylor with a score of 36 points.

Two points further back in second were the pair of Lyn Parry and Dennis Wright (34pts).
