A LADIES Captain v Vice Captain match took place at Downes Crediton Golf Club on Thursday, March 8, which saw an impressive win by the Ladies Captain team of 61/2 to 21/2.

It was a great day, the sun was shining and the course was in a brilliant condition after all the winter weather. Well done to all the ladies who took part.

Saturday, March 10 saw Downes members play two separate competitions, a team Yellowball and two scores to count medal.

Winners of the team Yellowball were Nick Staddon, Adrian Snell and Tim Staite scoring an impressive nett 66 beating Dave Hill, Paul Sandercock and Kevin Perry (nett 67) into second place.

The two scores to count medal was won by James Bourner, Mike Nott and Andy Frankum who scored a very impressive nett 124, 16 under par.

This saw a five-shot gap back to second placed Jason Arnold, Ben Marchant and Darren Clifford (nett 129) with Podge Edgecumbe, Jim Hutchison and Patrick McVeigh posting nett 130 to take third.
