GRAHAM Browne stole the show in this year’s Senior’s Poultry Stableford at Downes Crediton Golf Club, on Monday, December 6, scoring an impressive 42 points to finish in top spot overall and win Division Two.

Following in second was Chris Theedom (40pts).

In-form Nick Walker took victory in Division One scoring 36 points whilst Club Captain Peter Blinkhorn posted 35 points to finish second.

Downes ladies held their annual 9-hole Christmas Stableford competition on Thursday, December 9, when Trish Wallis scored a superb 21 points to win by a whopping seven points from runner-up Anne Woodger (14 points).

Following the golf the ladies enjoyed a Christmas lunch and the odd glass of wine.

The December Medal saw some good scoring and none better than Andrew Rogers who scored a fine nett 65 (five under) to win overall and top Division Two on Saturday, December 11.

Following in second, scoring a nett 69, was Philip Beasley.

Victory in Division One was taken by Stephan Yates scoring a nett 68 (two under) with Tristan Kershaw, second, scoring a nett 70 (level).

Downes members competed in another of the popular mixed events on Sunday, December 12, which saw the duo of Ken Bones and June Mitchell romp to victory, posting a Texas Scramble score of nett 62.

Four shots further back in second place were Angela and Martin Storey with a score of nett 66.
