FRANK Sanders shot a fantastic score of nett 64 to win this month’s seniors June medal and Division Two prize on Monday, June 14, at Downes Crediton Golf Club.
Colin Baker finished second with a score of nett 67 and in Division One it was Gerry Hodder with a nett 66 who came out on top with Richard Wilson finishing second with a nett 69.
The mid-week stableford, played on Wednesday, June 16 was won by Mike Thurston, who scored 42 points.
The team of Di Botterill, Ying Wong and Anne Woodger took first place in this year’s Ladies Open, played on Thursday, June 17, with a score of 82 points. The team of Sue Lane, Jo Lethaby and Amanda Webber (Portmore) finished second with a score of 78 points, and finally, Lyn Hazelton, Lyn Parry and Alison Hilton finished third with a score of 77 points.
The Thursday stableford was won by John Cornish with a score of 20 points.
Colin Chandler scored 41 points in the Captain Centenary Stableford to win overall and also won the Division Two prize, on Saturday, June 19.
The Division One top spot was taken by Quintin Payne-Cook who also scored 41 points. In Division Three it was taken by Matt Slee with a score of 41 points.
This year’s Kirton Cup and Three Player Inter Club County Team Open, which was played on Sunday, June 20, was won by the home team of Neil Chard, Nigel Chard and Tommy Gibbs with a fantastic 87 points.
The team of Mike Napper, Keith Sprague and Paul Gidley (Crediton) scored 86 points to finish second.
The team of Jim Dunlop, Neil Wilson and Steve Gidley (Crediton) brought home the Devon County Trophy with a score of 86 points.
