OKEHAMPTON Golf Club held its Men’s Fourball Better Ball Open competition on Saturday, July 22 which saw a large field enter.

The overall winners. with 48 points, were Steve Peake and Matt Parry from Okehampton. Josh Stacey and Simon James were second with 46 points and brothers Paul and Michael MacDonald were third with 45 points.

The best visitor prize was awarded to N Holland and S Bater from Sidmouth with 41 points and second were N Sellick and C Channon with 40 points.

Best Okehampton/combination prize was won by Alan Stokes and Ian Moore with 44 points.

The ladies section had a medal competition for the President’s Salver which was won by Sue Williams from the Silver Division with a fantastic nett 66.

Marcia Collett was second with nett 72 and Francis Harbron was third with nett 74.

The Bronze Division was won by Michelle Widdows with nett 69, Doris Jewell was second with nett 72 and Janice Thwaites was third with nett 75.

Sue was presented with her trophy by the Lady President, Doris Jewell.
