SATURDAY, December 13 saw league cup and plate action for many Crediton Youth FC sides.
The U15s had a tough cup tie at home against Stoke Hill. They put in a tremendous performance and the game finished three apiece with George Strawson, Luis Matthews and Will Hopkins getting the goals. It was the Crediton lads who held their nerve and ran out 4-1 winners on penalties.
Bradninch was the U14s destination for their cup tie. They raced to 3-0 lead in the first 15 minutes on a very wet pitch, and that was how things finished up. Dan Southall, Edward Lippolis and Freddie Peake got the goals.
It was plate action for the U12s as they entertained Central Grecians. Joey Carpenter led the scoring with four goals, Noah Pugsley with a hat-trick and a brace from Finn Cereda saw them to a comfortable victory.
Back in action were the U7s as they hosted two sides from Twyford Spartans. It was three wins and a draw for them.
Once again it was a busy morning of girls football on Sunday at Lords Meadow.
The U15 girls took on a useful Broadclyst side and found themselves 2-0 down early on. They fought back to draw level by half time and four goals in the second period saw them to a 6-2 victory. Olivia Mills grabbed a hat-trick with Amelia Gorska, Evelyn Richardson-Miller and Lydia Armitage also amongst the goals.
It was a fine morning for the U11s as they ran out winners over West Exe Whippets. Player of the match Ariana Malik grabbed two goals, with Charlotte Shorey and Esme Armitage also on target.
The U9 girls hosted two sides from Cullompton and it was one win and one narrow defeat for them. Amelia Holland and player of the day Zeenat Mohamidi got their goals. The coaches were very pleased with their performance as they produced some of the best football of the season so far.
Away from home it was league cup action for the U13 Youth side as they travelled to Starcross Dons. They put in a fine display and comfortably progressed to the next round. Emily Walshe, Katie Hooper, Merryn Eatherley and Mia Liebenberg White were amongst the goals for them.
The U18s travelled to Okehampton but lost out 6-2.
