JOHN Rance continued his fine form as he posted 37 points on a tough day to take the victory in the Midweek Stableford held at Downes Crediton Golf Club on Wednesday, May 5.

Ron Berry and Mike Thurston both scored 36 points to finish second and third respectively.

Shirley Stunell was once again in superb form as she scored a tremendous 39 points to win overall and top Division Two in the Ladies Stableford on Thursday, May 6.

She was a full eight points clear of second placed Di Parsons (31 points).

In Division One, Ying Wong and Lyn Parry both scored 33 points with Ying taking top spot by virtue of a better back nine holes.

In the nine-hole Stableford, Ruth Ford was victorious scoring 16 points.

Jon Cornish made it back-to-back wins in the Thursday Nine-Hole Stableford with a great score of 20 points. Richard Jones scored 18 points to finish second.

In tough conditions on Saturday, May 8, it was Mark Mortiboys who rose to the top of the pile, scoring an impressive 37 points.

His victory also saw him top Division Three and qualified him to play with home Professional Barry Austin in the National Pro-Am qualifier at Woodbury Park in early June. We wish them good luck.

Andrew Chandler followed in second place scoring 36 points to win the 40th Anniversary Jug as the leading Past Captain.

Division One was won by Louis Davies, posting 35 points, followed by Matt Arnold (34 points) in second, whilst in Division Two there were six scores of level par 36 points, with Joe Hull and Wayne Moore placing first and second respectively.
