Neil Wilson took victory in Wednesday, April 14’s Stableford scoring 39 points to beat Joe Hull (39pts) into second by virtue of a better back nine. Nick Taylor scored 36 points to place third.

Downes Ladies welcomed ladies from across the county on Thursday, April 15 to their ever popular coffee morning and golf. Enjoying the outdoor seating area, guests were spoilt with some superb cake and coffee before playing the Downes course in great condition. A fun day was had by all.

The Thursday Nine Hole Stableford saw Peter Huda take top spot, posting 20 points, one clear of Wayne Moore (19pts) in second.

Jim Matheson put in a superb performance on Saturday, April 17 to take victory in the first Monthly Medal of the season.

Jim posted a five under par nett 65 to take the win and also top Division Three with Phil Beasley (nett 69) second and Lyn Hazelton (nett 70) third.

In Division One it was a close run affair as three players scored nett 70’s but it was Neil Chard who took the win by virtue of a better back nine over Ben Dommett and Jim Dunlop.

Dave Hill took the spoils in Division Two, scoring a nett 68 with Kate Cornish and Joe Hull second and third posting nett 69’s. Adam Hull scored the best gross score for the day with a fine 74.

The first Mixed club competition of the season on Sunday, April 18 saw Dennis Wright and Lyn Parry victorious scoring a superb betterball stableford score of 43 points.

Lyn Hazelton and Alan Lawrence followed in second just one point behind posting 42 points.

The Downes Crediton Dartmoor League side started their season in style beating Wrangaton 4-1 in the Cup Knockout to move through to round two.
