COLIN Wheatcroft took this year’s Mick Thompson trophy at Downes Crediton Golf Club on Monday, October 9, with a superb score of 42 points and he also took the top spot in Division One.
In Division Two Paul Wilcocks scored 41 points to finish top.
The partnership of Lyn Parry and Fran Shrubsole won this year’s qualifier for the “Daily Mail” foursomes on Thursday, October 12, with a fantastic score of 41 points.
June Mitchell won the nine hole stableford with a score of 19 points.
Downes Crediton’s final competition of the summer season ended on Saturday, October 14 with a club stableford, which was won Duncan Cooper with 38 points. Rohan Hardeman finished second with 36 points.
The stableford was followed by this year’s Champion’s Trophy and a chance for all the competition winners to battle it out.
The winner was Matt Slee who scored a brilliant nett 63 (seven under) and second place went to Darren Russell who scored a nett 64 (six under).
