A FOUR Ball Better Ball Stableford for the Barnes Cup was held at Okehampton Golf Club on Saturday, April 22.

Division One was won by Jay Carroll and Alan Grimshaw with 46 points, Rod Milsom-Smith and Lewis Parry were second with 45 points and in third place were Mark Wonnacott and Martin O’Connor with 44 points.

The winners of Division Two and the Barnes Cup were Steve Pike and Tim Butler with 47 points. Paul Rogers and Russell Bowden were second with 46 points followed into third place by Brian May and Steve Browne with 44 points.

On Sunday, April 23, in great conditions, a Four Ball Better Ball Spring Mixed Open took place and the overall winners with 45 points were Bob and Marcia Collett from Okehampton.

Second overall were David and Mary Keir with 44 points also from Okehampton.

The best combination prize went to Dennis Edwards (Okehampton) and Liz Wood (Honiton) with 43 points and the best visitor prize was won by Jimmy Larkin and Wendy Roberts from Dainton Park with 39 points.

The ladies section entered the qualifying round of the Coronation Foursomes and the winners with 34 points were Maureen Willcocks and Vida Appleton.

Second place went to Marcia Jones and Abby Turner with 33 points and third place was taken by Sue Williams and Francis Harbron with 32 points.
