COLIN Baker, Graham Jones and Frank Sanders took the spoils at Downes Crediton Golf Club in Monday, November 19’s seniors Texas scramble with a cracking score of nett 63 (7 under).

The fight for second was very tight but the team of David Cousins, David Taylor and John Warren prevailed with a nett 64 (6 under) while the team of Peter Carr, Kevin Woolacott and Dennis Wright (nett 64) placed third losing on the back nine holes.

The year’s Christmas spirit stableford was played on Saturday, November 24, and there were some fantastic scores. Ben Merchant stole the show scoring a brilliant 44 points to take overall victory and top Division One while Matt Dyne finished second with a great score of 42 points.

In Division Two Daniel Knight took top spot with a cracking score of 40 points while Robin Abrahams finished second with a score of 39 points and in Division Three Shirley Stunell took victory with a fantastic score of 39 points with Colin Ray (39 pts) second.
