AN individual medal competition was held in glorious conditions at Okehampton Golf Club on Saturday, September 2, for the Brian Adams Salver (scratch) and the Bill Webber Bowl (nett).

The winner of Division One and both the trophies was Barry Down who shot a terrific score of gross 65 nett 59.

Will Searle also had a great round of golf to finish second with nett 61, Gareth Holt was third with nett 65 and Lee Carey was fourth with nett 66.

Division Two was won by Paul MacDonald with nett 67, Mark Curtis was second, Ade Hick was third also with nett 67 and Alex Anderson was fourth with nett 69.

Alan Dunn was the winner of Division Three with nett 64, Pete Grant was second with nett 67 after count back on the back nine from, in third Brian May also with nett 67 and Tim Butler was fourth with nett 68.

Lee Carey was second in the gross competition (68 2 66), Jack Whiteway was third (69 -2 71) and Gareth Holt was fourth (69 4 65).

The ladies section played the qualifying round of the “Daily Mail” Foursomes competition, which will be played next year.

The winning pair who will go through to represent the club are Marcia Collett and Sue Stanbury with 38 points narrowly beating Sue Williams and Maggie Caws on the back nine.
