THE ladies at Downes Crediton Golf Club hosted a coffee morning and golf for other ladies from local clubs on Thursday, April 21.

Run by Judith Ezard, Save the Children Community co-ordinator, more than 60 ladies supported the event, enjoying the Downes’ experience and hospitality whilst also raising money for the charity.

Amongst the crafts on sale was an original hand-made quilt made by Ann Thomson which raised £65, while the craft stall itself raised £205.

The morning was also very successful for the ladies section and the captain’s charity, Freewheelers.

The next charity event at Downes will be the annual golf day on Friday, June 3, also for Save the Children. This will be the seventh year running that the club has staged the event.
