THERE was a festival theme to the Friends of Hayward’s School Summer Fete held on the school field on Friday, June 26.

Hayward’s Headteacher Andy Smith presented Claire Lethbridge, chair of the PTA, who was stepping down after five years, with flowers and cards from each class at the school.  AQ 3934

Fantastic rock music from local band “Better Luck Next Time” entertained everyone as they visited the range of traditional fete stalls, inflatable assault course, barbecue and bar.

In addition there were Jazzy Jars, a Guess the Name of the Teddy Bear, Net a duck, Spin the Wheel, Football, Prize Pong, Play Your Cards Right, Flamingo Hoopla, Teddy Tombola, Beat the Keeper, Fire Engine, Go Karts, Mid Devon Whippy, raffle and much more.

There was a presentation of cards and flowers to Claire Lethbridge, chair of the PTA, who was stepping down after five years. She was thanked by Headteacher Andy Smith.
