THE Crediton Branch of the Royal British Legion is marking a proud milestone this year as it celebrates its 100th anniversary.

A special centenary event was held at Downes on Saturday, June 20, which included the presentation of a Commemorative Pennant to the President of Crediton RBL, Henry Parker, by Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Devon, Major General Bill O’Leary.

Major General O’Leary also read a letter received from HM the King’s Head of Royal Correspondence, wishing the branch congratulations on the anniversary.

Crediton Town Band played and there were many displays including Crediton Army Cadets, Scouts, Lions, Rotary Club, a local car club, Crediton Fire Station, QE School, Crediton Town Council and some local businesses.
