SUSTAINABLE Crediton’s ever-popular Big Green Fair will run from 11am to 2pm on Saturday, September 26 in the Town Square.

You can expect a wonderful family day out with a great programme of live music, delicious food, fun activities for children, crafts, recycled bikes and information on all sorts of environmental and sustainability themes. It is free and a great place to meet up.

Performing on the music stage will be: Etchechuria, Corduroy Curiosities, Rob Husband, With Love from Ukraine, Ian “Slide” Edgar, Whittall & Cookson supported by Jack Robson of Crediton Arts Centre.

There will be fun activities for children including games and crafts. Plenty of food and drinks will be on offer to enjoy including delicious soup lunches from Sustainable Crediton’s Community Larder Group. The Larder is a partnership with Crediton Library, putting food in ‘Bellies not Bins’ and saving tons of CO2 each year by avoiding food wastage. Homemade cakes and hot drinks will be provided by the Larder Group.

Stalls showcasing local environmental groups and projects will include the Devon Wildlife Trust, the Wildwood Trust, and ecoe (Exeter Community Energy, who can advise on energy saving, insulation and more).

Craft lovers will be tempted by the creations on the Significant Seams stall and anyone looking for a “new” bicycle can visit Graham’s Bikes and find out how to get anything (almost) fixed at the Repair Cafe.

And there is much more to discover. Other community organisations will also be there including Crediton Lions, Crediton Town Council, Sandford Community Growing and Crediton Garden Club.

The event will be opened by Rob Husband.
