A TWO-DAY exhibition and sale of donated art works by local artists has raised a staggering £2,455 for the people of Gaza.

The Gaza Art Aid event was held at Crediton Arts Centre on Saturday and Sunday, September 12 and 13.

Artist Tim Salter thanked the many artists who donated works, praising them for their generosity and commenting on the visual impact of their work.

He also thanked the stewards and those who went along and purchased work, generating what he described as “a warm spirit and joy in the event.”

He also thanked Crediton Arts Centre for hosting the event for free.

He concluded: “The final figure that you raised is £2,455 for the people of Gaza, through the Red Cross Gaza Appeal.”
