A CREDITON High Street trader has issued a warning to other traders to be on their guard after her shop was broken into overnight, Thursday, May 26 and Friday, May 27.
The trader, who asked not to be named, said: “I had a call from a neighbouring business owner to say my shop had been broken into.
“She saw it this morning, Friday, May 27.
“The back door had been kicked in and my float, about £40, was taken.
“My radio was taken and a charity collection tin was stamped on to open it and the money taken from that as well.
“I also heard that a neighbouring house was broken into and a bicycle stolen from there.”
“Crediton Police have been and taken fingerprints and I have had the door repaired.
“It is horrendous to think someone could do something like this.”
An attempt was also made to gain access to a neighbouring shop at about the same time.
The business owner said that the lock at the bottom of the door was broken but the top lock was able to stop anyone gaining access.
Crediton Police would welcome any information about the break-in and theft.
If you can help the police with their inquiries, telephone 101 or use Crimestoppers number anonymously on 0800 555 111.
