TWO men were acting suspiciously and looking around some outbuildings in the Smallbrook area of Crediton today, Monday, June 5.

Crediton Police issued an awareness warning about the incident which happened at around 1.45pm.

A police spokesperson said: “The males said they were looking for any old batteries and scrap.

“When asked to leave, the males became a little verbal.

“They left in a white Citroen van.

“Please secure your property and outbuildings and report any suspicious activity.”

Police added that the men were of a scruffy appearance and that one man was of a larger build.

The spokesperson also confirmed that the vehicle registration was taken and this is currently being looked into.

BROAD BEANS STOLEN AT NEWTON ST CYRES

At Newton St Cyres, a resident of Court Orchard, went to pick some broad beans during the morning of Thursday, June 1, only to discover that they had been stolen.

If anyone has had similar thefts in the village, they are asked to please report the thefts to the police using the 101 number.
