CO-RESPONDERS from Crediton Fire Station were the first on the scene when a man sustained what was believed to have been a cardiac arrest in The Mitre public house, Crediton High Street, this afternoon, Tuesday, May 9.

Paramedics in a car were also quickly on the scene followed by a land ambulance.

A Devon Air Ambulance landed in Newcombes Meadow near the St Boniface Statue.

Paramedics and a doctor on-board were able to assist at the public house and the man was then transferred by the land ambulance to Union Road before being taken by the Air Ambulance to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital.
