Last week he received a generous donation of £500 from Crediton Dairy.

Neil said he was looking forward to taking part in the marathon, explaining: “…it’s been several months of training for it”.

Crediton fire crew will also be taking on a relay-rowing challenge in full kit in the Town Square on Sunday morning while Neil is running.

There will be a raffle with prizes donated by local businesses and a cake stall.

A Crediton fire appliance will be in the Town Square and children will be able to get inside the fire engine to have-a-look.

Donations, support and raffle prizes would be welcomed.

The Fire Fighters Charity supports all serving and retired UK firefighters.
