FINALLY the weather allowed a decent amount of fixtures for Crediton Youth FC sides at the weekend (January 28/29).
It was a local derby for the U16’s as they hosted Newton St Cyres.
Owen Jones got the only goal of the game, in a very competitive game on a heavy pitch for the home side.
The U15’s lost 4-1 at home to Sidmouth Town with a rather rusty performance, after a long lay off.
Ben Betts got their goal consolation goal.
The U12’s had a friendly at home against a very useful Alphington U11’s side.
Goals from Josh Poole with a hat-trick, Jimmy Orchard, Lexi Mullen and Will Hopkins saw them eventually run out 6-1 winners.
Colyton was the destination for the U11’s for their Plate competition fixture.
It was a rather one sided affair as goals from Archie Crosbie, Casey Philp, Freddie Peake, Issac Heal, Jayden Saunders, Riad Abdel-Hay and Rory Hiscock with his first goal for the club saw them progress to the next round.
It was a great day for the U8’s as they returned from West Exe Youth with four wins and plenty of goals scored.
Player of the day awards went to Charley Hiscock and Lennon Noble.
The U7’s had a mini tournament at Exeter Panthers. It was four draws, three wins and one defeat for them.
Sunday saw the U18’s return to action against Exmouth United at Lords Meadow.
Plenty of goals but the home side lost out 7-4 in the end.
The Crediton goals coming from Casey Grosset with two, Lewis Heywood and Oscar Gaunt.
The U14 girls were away at Buckland Athletic. Chloe Curtis with a hat-trick and a Ruby Turner goal saw them return with a 4-1 victory.
It was another close game for the U12 girls as they had to settle for a 5-5 draw at home against Central Youth Wild Cats. Lexi Mullen led the goal scoring for them with a hat-trick, Gracie Clements and Eva also on target for them.
There were even more goals as the U10 Development side shared 12 goals in a thrilling game against Culm Sampford at Lords Meadow.
Ben Turner, Euan O’Neil and Nate Payne scored the goals.
It was the long journey to Braunton for the U10 girls.
They had a morning of mixed results against some useful Braunton sides. Special mention must go to Amelia Abbot, Amèlia May, Iyla Brenchley and Sophie Trenaman who all had amazing performances in goal and to Eva Malik on her goals.
