THE Crediton Twinning Association Annual Boules Tournament took place in the Town Square on the afternoon of Saturday, May 23.

This annual event has been running since 1989 and the Main Trophy is a historical record of winners over the years. Once again the tournament was organised by Peter Brewer.

Ten teams of four took part this year and in keeping with tradition, any team losing its first game move into the “Plate” competition.

The other two trophies are for the winners and runners up in the main tournament. This year the Plate winners were a team called “The Flying 4 Ts”, led by Andrew Tonkin.

The main final was between the winners last year, “Golden Balls”, and a new Crediton Town Council team.

With the sun shining throughout, the winners were Crediton Town Council.

Our mayor, Councillor Steve Huxtable, who was a spectator during the event, kindly presented the trophies.
