WHO would have thought last year when signing up for the Great West Run we would have been faced with a heatwave!

I ran the 10k in aid of Force, a cancer charity that means a lot to me as many of my family and friends have been affected by cancer.

I wanted to give something back to this wonderful local charity which does fantastic work supporting and providing practical help at its hub in Exeter.

I was one of 450 Force runners and so far collectively around £120,000 has been raised.

It was very tough running in the heat, but the event was so well organised with hoses being sprayed at most corners! The members of the public were fantastic lining the streets and handing out sweets.

Many thanks to all the wonderful volunteers on the day and for my family/ friends supporting me with donations.

To date I have raised £630 but if you would like to donate still I do have a link on my Facebook page. Thank you.

At the end I met up with Adam Bilcock, my Don, Nathan Keast and his girlfriend Tina Ashdown, who had all completed the half marathon! A big kudos to everyone!
