HOT on the heels of the Cornish Championship, one of Tedburn St Mary Judo Club’s youngest and bravest students entered the Katana age-banded competition in Bristol on Sunday, April 27.
At just eight years old, Harriet competed well against four other contestants, all of them higher graded than her.
She won three out of the four fights and was awarded a silver medal.
“Once again, I'm very proud that Harriet was able to compete, flying the flag for Tedburn St Mary Judo Club,” Sensei Allen Carter said.
“She was unable to attend the previous competition due to illness, and did extremely well to win a silver medal.”
Tedburn St Mary Judo Club meets every Friday at the village hall from 6.30pm to 7.30pm for ages five to nine, and from 7.30pm to 9pm for ages 10 to 16 and seniors.
If you would like to join, telephone Sensei Allen on 07745 940159. The first session is free.
