AS MANY as 180 people from across the South West and further afield have taken part in this year’s Crediton Crunch 10km race.

The multi-terrain run, which is 90 per cent offroad and organised by the South West Road Runners, started and ended at Lords Meadow Leisure Centre on Sunday, May 5.

The race began at 10.30am and included one loop of the rugby pitch near the leisure centre before the runners left the area.

The first to return was 21-year-old Michael Lambourne of the City of York Athletics Club, finishing the 10km in 40 minutes flat.

The first female to return was 41-year-old Ellie Debenham of the South West Road Runners, with a time of 47 minutes and 30 seconds.

Trophies were presented to the first, second and third males and females home as well as a team trophy and recognition for age categories.

The Crediton Running Network provided marshalling support around the course, and the 1st Crediton Scouts refreshments for the competitors at the end of the run.
