CREDITON Rugby Club has announced that it is unable to proceed with fixtures this weekend, August 15 and 16.

In a statement it said: “Unfortunately, pitch conditions at Blagdon mean that we’ve had to cancel the Club XV fixture against Exeter Saracens RFC.

“It’s the same story over at Cullompton Rugby Club, so the First XV match is also off.

“It's not the start to the pre-season games any of us wanted, but player safety is paramount!

“In addition, with a two thirds of the squad unavailable this weekend, we’ve sadly had to withdraw from the Colts XV fixture at Ivybridge Rugby Club.

“Keep your fingers crossed for a change in conditions - if the hot and dry weather persists, we will be arranging a Club Rain Dance!”
