CREDITON Rugby Club is delighted to announce a significant step forward in the club’s long-term relocation and development plan, marking one of the most important infrastructure milestones in our modern history.

Following two years of detailed discussions, planning, and hard work from directors past and present, the club has been awarded a 75% grant for the construction of Pitch 2, a brand new grass pitch at our Creedy Bridge site. The grant has been facilitated by the RFU, with funding provided through the Football Foundation, a partnership that reflects the strength of Crediton RFC’s vision and the confidence placed in our future.

Work on the new pitch is already underway. Contractors have made excellent early progress and are on schedule to seed the pitch in September 2026, paving the way for Crediton RFC to play its first match on the new pitch in September 2027.

In line with planning conditions, the club must complete construction of the new car park before any pitches can be brought into use. This work has also commenced and is progressing well.

Alongside Pitch 2, two additional pitches are being set out, levelled and prepared as practice and junior pitches. These areas will not be drained but will provide valuable training and development space for players across the club.

At this stage, the club’s focus remains firmly on pitch and car park works. The relocation of the clubhouse and main pitch will follow in later phases once the current programme is complete.

Crediton RFC enters this period of growth from a position of exceptional strength. With secure tenure across multiple existing facilities, including the Rec, the clubhouse, the first team pitch, training pitch, and the fully lit river pitch with changing facilities.

The addition of the Creedy Bridge site marks a transformational expansion of our footprint. By the start of the 2027/2028 season, the club will have three new pitches, expanded training capacity, and additional car parking ready for use.

These achievements are a testament to the dedication of our directors, committee members, volunteers, and supporters over many years. Their commitment has ensured that Rugby in Crediton is not only secure, but thriving, with facilities that will serve future generations of players.
