CREDITON RFC 2ND XV 26-0 TAVISTOCK 1ST XV

THE 2nd XV welcomed Tavistock 1st XV on Saturday, December 6, and, after an impressive win last week, were looking to keep the momentum going.

Despite the rain in preceding days, the pitch was in good condition. The opening exchanges were full of strong running from both sides, but it wasn’t long before we were camped deep in Tavistock’s 22. From there, No. 8 Chris Hooper powered over for the first try, duly converted for 7–0.

Tavistock continued to attack with intent, but our defence stood firm. A turnover in Tavistock’s half allowed Charlie Conner to slice through for our second try, again converted, sending the Kirton boys into halftime 14–0 ahead.

The second half saw Tavistock enjoy plenty of possession, with a couple of chances thwarted as we held them up over the line.

But a crucial strip turned defence into attack, allowing us to surge upfield. After a series of pick-and-goes, the ball went wide for Conner to claim his second try of the day.

With the clock winding down, Ben Baxter crossed to seal the bonus point and complete a commanding performance.

Our defence was immense throughout, repelling Tavistock’s pressure and securing a well-earned 26–0 victory.

Next weekend’s fixtures: 1st XV vs Wadebridge Camels (home); 2nd XV vs Exeter Saracens (away); 3rd XV vs South Molton (away); Colts XV vs South Molton (home).

We look forward to welcoming Leach Brothers and Dave Pollard Transport as our match-day sponsors.
