THE Seniors at Downes Crediton Golf Club played a Greensomes stableford on Monday, January 5 and as always, some good scoring was produced.

The winning score on the day came from the captain and vice captain, Eric Parkes and John Cann, whose -16 round of a whopping 52 points gave them a five shot victory.

In second place, also with a brilliant score of 47 points (on any normal day a winning score) were Gerry Hodder and Alan Willey.

In third place with 43 points were Cyril Dawes and Paul Fricker.

Saturday, January 10 saw the men play a club stableford and winner of Division One was Gary Price with 37 points.

In second place was John Ponsford with 36 points and third was Simon Cartlidge also with 36 points, just losing out on countback.

Division Two was won by Mike Charnock with 39 points, second was Jeremy Thornton with 37 points and third was Alan Willey also with 37 points just losing out on countback.

Ron Berry took Division Three and best overall score with 41 points. In second place was Ray Kelly with 39 points and in third place was Will Cockerham, also scoring 39 points however, he lost out on the back nine.
