MONDAY, May 15 saw Seniors from Downes Crediton Golf Club play their second medal of the season, with Gerry Hodder taking victory scoring a fine nett 68.

Gerry also won Divison One beating Richard Tomkins (nett 70) into second place with Dennis Wright posting nett 72 for third. Peter Johnson topped Division Two scoring a nett 72.

On Wednesday, May 17, a score of 35 points saw Connor Clifford win the Midweek Stableford beating Ollie Knowles (34 points) into second place. Ben Rowe scored 33 points to finish third.

On Thursday, May 18 Downes ladies played their Peugot Coronation Foursomes. Sue Jackson and Penny Long took the victory with 27 points beating Shirley Stunell and Ying Wong on the back nine holes.

Matt Arnold won the Thursday Evening Stableford scoring a fine 20 points.

Saturday, May 20 saw Downes members compete in the May Medal and Tim Keehner put together an impressive three under par nett 67 to take the overall victory.

Tim also topped Division One beating Darren Russell into second place by virtue of a better back nine.

Three players scored nett 69 in Division Two with Ian Steer finishing first, Conner Clifford second and Frank Sanders third.

In Division Three Paul Doran posted a nett 69 to win whilst Matt Redstone (nett 70) took second place with Ron Berry (nett 71) in third.

On Sunday, May 21 the Cynthia King Robinson Bowl, open to mixed pairs, was won by Sue Jackson and Steve Gidley scoring a fine eight under par 44 points.

Their total beat Shirley and Peter Stunell (44 pts) into second place courtesy of a better back nine with last year’s winners, June Mitchell and Dennis Wright, finished third scoring 43 points.
