TIM Staite stole the show, in the Stableford on Wednesday, June 30, scoring a superb 46 points to take the week’s prize at Downes Crediton Golf Club.

The ladies played in the County Stableford on Thursday, July 1 when Fran Shrubsole, who scored 40 points, claimed the Division One prize and Ying Wong finished second with a score of 38 points.

In Division Two it was Dianne Botterill who scored 38 points to finish top of the division and Anne Jones finished second with a score of 32 points

Well done to the Downes Crediton team who beat Honiton 2-1 in the first round of the Parker Trophy on Friday, July 2.

The second round of this year’s club championship, which was played on Saturday, July 3, was shaped up to be the best one yet and it didn’t disappoint as it became a record breaking day for the scratch and handicap prizes.

The handicap club championship was won by Matthew Russell who shot a second round nett 60 (10 under) to add to his first round nett 66 (four under) and to shoot a 126 (14 under) to take this year’s prize and break the record for the lowest handicap score ever at Downes Crediton Golf Club!

The Club Championship was taken by Oliver Greenslade who scored a second round 71 (one over) to add to his first round 70 (level) to shoot a 141 (one over) to win this year’s Club Championship and he also broke the record for the lowest scratch score in Club Championship history at Downes Crediton Golf Club.
