AN individual stableford was played at Okehampton Golf Club on Saturday, October 23 and the top three winning players in Division One all attained 36 points.

After count-back it was decided that Paul Prouse was first, Lee Carey was second and Jack Whiteway was third.

The same situation arose in Division Two but this time the top three all scored 39 points Steve Penna was first, Hugh Bruce was second and Steve Heyes was third.

Steve Pike was the winner of Division Three with 39 points, Kevin Harding was second with 38 points and Steve Latham was third also with 38 points.

The ladies took on the Senior men in the annual “Rolling pin” event which is a four-ball better ball competition that amazingly ended in a draw with both sides having 223 stableford points, resulting in the ladies retaining the trophy.

Congratulations to Sue Williams and Janice Thwaites for winning the best ladies score and to Nick Atkinson and Adrian Tilley for winning the best mens score.

The ladies section played the Daily Mail Foursomes qualifiying competiton and the winners were Sue Williams and Babs Beaney with 36 points and closely following in second were Janice Thwaites and Sue Stanbury with 35 points.

Sue and Babs will go forward to represent the Club.
