THE Joe Liversage trophy, played at Downes Crediton Golf Club on Monday, June 21, was won by the pair of Peter Caston and Paul Dorothy, who scored a superb 44 points to finish in top spot.

The pair of Gerry Hodder and Graham Pateman scored 43 points to finish second and Stephen Kiff and Danny Berta finished third with a score of 43 point, but lost to a better back nine.

Robin Tooze stole the show in the Wednesday stableford (June 23) by shooting an incredible 45 points to take the top spot.

Lyn Parry and Fran Shrubsole scored 44 points to win this year’s Killard Leavy foursomes competition, which was held on Thursday, June 24, with the pair of Sue Bond and Sue Jackson scoring 36 points to finish second.

The first round of this year’s Club Championship was played on Saturday, June 26 and it was Adam Hull who took the early lead shooting a fantastic 68 gross (two under) to take top spot going into the weekend’s second round but he is being closely followed by Oliver Greenslade who scored a gross 70 (level).

Matt Dyne, Rodin Mackay and Steve Peake are all tied third with scores of 72 gross (two over), in the handicap it was Duncan Cooper who is leading this year’s handicap club championship shooting a fantastic nett 65 (five under).

Adam Hull came second with a score of nett 65, but lost to a better back nine and Matt Russell was third with a score of nett 66 (four under).

Downes Crediton played the first round of the palairet on Sunday, June 27 against a tough opponent of Morthoe and Woolacombe but the Crediton boys came out on top winning the match 4-1 to go through to the next round.

A massive congratulations to the Downes Crediton mixed teams who went to Exeter on Sunday and won this year’s inter club mixed event with a combined score of 326 points to beat East Devon who scored 319 points to take top spot.

A massive well done also to the pair of Fran Shrubsole and Tony Sykes who scored 49 points to be the best team of the day.
