PETER Caston was the winner of this year’s David Moss Vase competition at Downes Crediton Golf Club, played on Monday, September 24, with a fantastic score of 41 points which also saw him win Division One.
He was followed by Nick Bromell who scored 39 points to finish second while Richard Tomkins finished third, losing to a better back nine, but also scored 39 points.
In Division Two Richard Wilson finished in top spot in Division Two scoring 39 points to beat Cedric Chapple who also scored 39 points but lost to a better back nine and Alan Matthews finished third scoring 38 points.
The ladies held their Daily Mail Foursomes qualifier on Thursday, September 27. It was the pair of Fran Shrubsole and Ying Wong who claimed top spot with a great score of 33 points with the pair of Sue Sparham and Trish Wallis finishing second with a score of 32 points.
There was some great scoring from John Rance who scored 43 points in the Club Stableford on Saturday, September 29 beating Tristan Kershaw who finished second with a brilliant 40 points.
Adam Hull finished in third place with a score of 39 points.
Congratulations go to Ollie Greenslade who, on Saturday, won the scratch match play trophy.
