AN Individual Stableford competition took place at Okehampton Golf Club on Saturday, February 23 in glorious weather with the course in superb condition.

The winner of Division One with an excellent 45 points was Rod Wright with his gross score of 71 beating his age by two shots - a fantastic achievement.

In second place was Will Searle with 42 points and in third place, winning on the back nine, was Paul (Dougy) Douglas with 39 points.

Division Two winner was Paul MacDonald with 42 points, in second place was Simon James with 37 points just ahead on the back nine from Nick Atkinson in third place also with 37 points.

Winner of Division Three was Toby Gostling with 41 points, in second place was Zdenko Dalajka with 37 points and in third place winning on the back nine was Eric Pengelly with 36 points.

Okehampton Ladies started the season well at Saunton Golf Club in the Saunton Team Challenge.

In their first ever visit to the North Devon links for this long-standing team competition, with Maggie Caws, Lin Atkinsonand Frances Harbron on the East Course and Judith Ezard, Cherry James and Elaine Marwood on the West Course, they won the second Best Visitors prize.

With 21 teams playing on a gloriously sunny day the Okey Ladies were also delighted to come fourth overall.
