OKEHAMPTON Golf Club’s Ladies Presidents team recently played the County Inter Club quarter finals held at Dainton Park, where they overcame Teign Valley, taking them through to the semi-finals which were held at Portmore Golf Club on Friday, September 7.

Here they found themselves up against yet another strong ladies team but this time from Woodbury and after some long matches, one of which actually went to 20 holes, the Okehampton ladies were once again victorious and are now in the finals which will be played at Tiverton on September 28. Good Luck ladies.

On Saturday, September 8 Club Professional Ashley Moon hosted Pro’s Day 2018, the format of the day being a 3 – 2 – 1 stableford competition.

The overall winners, with a massive 92 points, were Barry Down, Lloyd Chapman and Matthew Parry, in second place were Steve Rice, Gareth Holt and Phil Atherton with 82 points, third position went to Jon Mansell, Kevin Pedrick and Cameron McMorrin with 80 points.

The ladies section played their September medal competition and the winner of the Silver Division with nett 69 was Sue Stanbury, in second was Francis Harbron with nett 70 and third place went to Cherry James with nett 76.

The Bronze Division was won by Sylvie Gowers with nett 72, Mary Keir was second with nett 73 and Elaine Marwood was third with nett 75 after count back on the back nine.
