OKEHAMPTON Golf Club held a men’s fourball better ball open competition on Saturday, August 31 which saw the overall winners Kevin Cornwall and Alan Searle score 50 points.

In second place were Rob Green and Reg Prescott with 46 points having a better back nine than Steve Rice and Richard McFarlane who were third.

The best visitor prize was won by Michael Trengove and Reece Andronik from Torrington with 43 points and in second were Gary Stone and Andrew Pelling from Bude with 42 points.

On Wednesday (August 29) the ladies played the monthly stableford competition and the winner of the Silver Division with a fantastic 40 points was Marcia Collett. Frances Harbron was second with 34 points and Cherry James was third with 32 points.

The Bronze Division was won by Mary Keir with 34 points, Maggie Caws was second with 32 points and Diana Johnson was third with 30 points.
