MONDAY, April 30 saw Downes Crediton Golf Club seniors host their first of the yearly Niblick trophies and with the sun shining it was going to be a great day for golf but also a tough day as well.

Peter Caston came out on top with a solid score of 35 points taking the overall victory and Division One beating Colin Baker who scored 34 points to come second, John Smale took the Division Two victory with a great score of 34 points.

It was a tough day for our Wednesday (May 2) roll up players but Darren Clifford took first place with a score of 34 points beating Andrew Jackman by a better back nine.

The Ladies County stableford 4 was played on Thursday, May 3 and Sue Bonner claimed the top spot scoring a brilliant score of 33 points to win the overall and Division Two prizes. Lyn Parry took Division One with a score of 29 points.

Robbie Hallam won the Thursday evening stableford with a superb score of 21 points.

As there was no booked competition this week a roll up stableford was played on Saturday, May 5 which saw Michael White steal the show with a score of 41 points beating Shaun Cross to win overall and Division Two.

In Division One Duncan Cooper scored 38 points to beat Neil Baber who scored 36 points.
