OKEHAMPTON Golf Club’s Captain, Evan Rees, took to the fairways at 4.50am on Friday, June 30 in what was the start of a golfing marathon - “Evan’s Episode”.

This saw him complete 17 rounds of Foursomes golf in one day, the last round being completed at 9.10pm.

The 17th and final round brought in the best score of the day, a three under par gross score garnering 45 points, partnered by Steve Peake.

The gruelling, but fun “Episode” was 12 months in the planning by Evan, so he was determined to continue playing throughout the day despite the unfavourable weather!

Evan’s aim was to fund a new Clubhouse roof, and thanks to the generosity of members and guests he achieved this by raising £2,700.
