Colin Parr was winner of Mick Thompson trophy

DOWNES Crediton Golf Club seniors played the annual Mick Thompson Trophy competition on Monday, October 9.

With the course in top condition the scoring was always going to be good and that’s exactly how it was with Colin Parr taking the spoils with 39 points winning Division One and winning the Mick Thompson trophy. He was followed closely by Martin Howe who took second spot with a score of 38 points.

Brain Johnston won Division Two with a good score of 36 points with Herbie Smith finishing second with 35 points.

Tracey Chandler took the victory on Thursday, October 12 with 36 points winning the ladies county stableford 11 beating Doreen Warren who finished second in Division One with 32 points.

In Division Two Sue Barr scored 30 points to take the win by seven points in front of Di Botterill who scored 23 points.

Saturday, October 14 saw the annual Greenkeepers Revenge competition with some holes on slops of greens others with smaller holes that could only just fit a golf ball and even one green with a trailer in front of the green.

It was the team of Jamie Wright. Rob Buglass, Richard Harley and the late substitute of Barry Austin who took first place with a score of 67 beating the team of Matt Dyne, Graham Dyne. Daniel Knight and Chet Greenslade by a better back nine.

Everyone enjoyed the day and had a lot of fun playing.
